Destiny 2 sẽ lên Steam và trở thành game Free 2 Play
Sau khi kết thúc hợp đồng với Activision cũng như giành lấy thương hiệu Destiny, Bungie đang bắt đầu tạo nên nhiều thay đổi để một nền tảng tốt nhất cho Destiny 2.
Theo đó, cùng việc tung ra gói nội dung Shadowkeep, Bungie đồng thời thông báo hỗ trợ cross-play cho phép lưu và chuyển dữ liệu giữa cả 3 hệ máy, game gốc sẽ dưới dạng F2P và game sẽ lên Steam, tất cả sẽ diễn ra trong tháng 9 tới. Bungie chính thức khẳng định trong buổi livestream trước thềm E3.
Ngoài base game chính thức free, các gói mở rộng sẽ được bán riêng biệt, người chơi có thể chọn mua gói nội dung mở rộng mà mình thích trong các gói được tung ra, không yêu cầu phải có sẵn gói nào để sở hữu gói sau đó. Như vậy, có thể thấy Bungie đang tận dụng ưu thế mà đối thủ Warframe vốn có. Việc Destiny 2 hay Halo MCC lên Steam cũng là một tin vui với cộng đồng PC khi Epic Games Store đang thao túng thị trường với các game độc quyền.
